Methodology
Dr. Knight has published several articles that focus on controversial methodological issues in the domains that he studies. His most elaborate methodological contributions have focused on the study of cognitive deficiencies in schizophrenia and how to differentiate specific deficits from general cognitive deficiencies. He has also written about strategies for generating and validating typologies and assessing taxonic versus dimensional latent traits and ways to relate symptoms to underlying processes. He has been involved in debates about how to assess risk for recidivism, and he has created his own computer administered, contingency-based inventory, the MIDSA.
